Dustin Adams: Musician, Educator, and Piano Technician in Colorado

Dustin Adams is a versatile musician, music educator, and piano technician based in Littleton, Colorado. He regularly performs on piano, drum set, and tabla. Originally from Amarillo, TX, Dustin earned his degree in music from Amarillo College in 2000 and furthered his studies at the University of North Texas.

Dustin's deep connection with music spans many genres and instruments. A seasoned jazz pianist and drummer, he’s performed in a variety of settings, from solo gigs to ensemble performances. In addition to his work on piano and drums, Dustin has been a dedicated tabla player since 2001, with formal study under Nabin Shrestha since 2018. His passion for both Western and Indian music enriches his diverse musical repertoire.

Dustin has performed in a wide range of musical settings, from leading jazz trios on piano to playing drums in small ensembles and Big Bands. He spent two years performing on tabla three nights a week with sitarist Tom Griffin, deepening his study and performance of Indian classical music.

His performance experience includes collaborations with organizations and groups such as Amarillo College, Amarillo Little Theatre, West Texas A&M University, Lamont School of Music, Inside the Orchestra, the Indian Classical Music Circle of Dallas/Ft. Worth, Makaysha Rain and Cosmic Kirtan, DeepSi, Tom Furhman, Sri Devi Kirtan Collective, Em Rossel, Bhakti Shakti Kirtan, Minor Note Orchestra, Stephen Brooks Trio, Kali Creates Fate, The Fakebooks, and numerous other ensembles across jazz, rock, theatre, and devotional music.

In 2024, he collaborated with Molly Zackary at the Community College of Denver to compose original music for The Thanksgiving Play by Larissa FastHorse.Dustin has been teaching music since 2006, specializing in piano, drums, and tabla. As a performing musician, he brings real-world experience and musical depth into every lesson, helping students develop both technical skill and expressive confidence. He has taught private lessons, group classes, and workshops at Swallow Hill Music Association (2013–2020) and Avanti Music Academy, and continues to teach from his private studio in Colorado.

A fascination with the mechanics of the piano led Dustin to apprentice at Move and Tune Pianos in Denver in 2012, where he developed his expertise in tuning, repair, and regulation. As a member of the Piano Technicians Guild, he continues to expand his knowledge and skills. Dustin is a highly sought-after piano tuner and technician, working with professional musicians, music organizations, and institutions. He is dedicated to providing exceptional service to a loyal and growing clientele.
